Marshall JCM800 (Quo)

Gain Range:

…Best Suited for ClassicRock

What you get…

Quite a low gain 800, but it was designed for the Quo, and this one used by the Quo, and they were not really about high gain. – they wanted to keep the original sound, but have a more transparent sound. – this amp has different preamp tubes, but the power section is the same. – so breakup is harder to dial in. – don’t get me wrong it can still produce a lot of it.. but not as much as a regular 800!.

  • 6 Profiles of various settings (sweetspots)
  • 4×12 Greenback (25’s) cab
  • Multimic 57, 121 and 414 running through Neve Mic pre’s
  • Great for Live and studio play

What we recommend…

  • Strat/Tele for the low gain
  • Lespaul or Humbucker for an alternative tone
  • Try Increasing the “Definition” for a brighter/tighter tone
  • Try decreasing the “Definition” for a darker/vintage/looser tone
  • These were created using reference monitors, so use EQ to taste to adjust to your needs
